Founder and President of Libros para Todos. Susan Neulist began Libros para Todos during a Spanish conversation class in 2013 and is proud of the growth over the past 6 years and the success of reaching children, especially in rural communities.
She worked in the US in many settings including not for profit organizations in administration and organization. These include the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Chapel Hill, NC; the University of North Carolina, medical offices and small businesses.
She moved to Mexico with her husband Richard when they retired.
She has volunteered and organized volunteers for much of her adult life and brings to LpT her knowledge and dedication to organization and working in the service of others.
A denison of the east coast of the USA, Tina has spent many years doing many things as might be expected from any self respecting Gemini. That said, in her corporate career she has worked extensively in diverse fields including organizational development and planning, human resource development , succession planning , marketing, training and communication.This work has spanned established major companies and venture capital startups , the majority of which was in technology sector businesses. Chapter two has seen her consulting, owning and operating restaurants and retail businesses , frequently more than one at a time, as well as being deeply involved in community activism and leadership and volunteering.
Her relationship with San Miguel de Allende began in 2010, and her relationship with Libros para Todos began when she was seduced by an author event in support of LPT many years ago.
Gerardo Arredondo Hernandez
Geerardo has been a promoter of culture all his life and has specialized in promoting literature since the year 2000. He founded the reading club Jorge Ibargüengoitia which collaborated with CONACULTA, the Secretary for Culture in Mexico. A teacher by trade, Gerardo has been committed to spreading the habit of reading for pleasure among children and youth in the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. As a member of the Board of Directors for Libros para Todos, he manages the reading campaigns in Dolores Hidalgo which includes hundreds of young participants.
Daniela Elena Franco
She began as a volunteer for LPT in 2013 and became director in 2015. Daniela studied International Affairs and Foreign Languages from Lewis & Clark College, a masters in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a masters in Business Administration from ITESM Queretaro. She loves traveling, dancing flamenco, reading, spending time with her two daughters, and, of course, reading.
Susan Page is the author of six books that took her to media and speaking engagements in thirty-five states and six foreign countries including three appearances on the Oprah Winfrey show. Before that, she was the Director of Women’s Programs at the University of California, Berkeley. When she moved to San Miguel in 2003, she founded the San Miguel Literary Sala and co-founded the San Miguel Writers’ Conference, where she remains the executive director.
Richard Neulist is the Treasurer of Libros para Todos. His background includes accounting and computer technology and has worked in both private and not for profit organizations in the US, with a strong emphasis on budgeting. He moved to Mexico upon retirement and besides his joy of learning a language, he has given much of his volunteer time to helping organizations to develop a database for tracking donations. He has also volunteered teaching English and loves working with children.
Mariana Tapia Hernández
Mariana is from the small community of El Carmen in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende. She was raised by her mother and grandmother. She discovered her gift for working with kids and her passion for community development projects at a young age. Upon graduation from high school, she worked for a micro-lending institution where she assisted in designing the curriculum for a children's program that teaches the basic tenets of financial literacy. Mariana has been the Outreach Program Coordinator for Libros para Todos since 2019.
